MY MODERN MUSE

As I scrolled quickly through Instagram yesterday, my finger jammed to a stop. Why, you ask? Because, I tell you, I laid eyes on the most spectacularly chic, stylish and beautiful human being of all time.

Rebecca de Ravenel is her name. Jewelry design, her trade. Here is the image that will forever be seared into my mind, upon which I shamelessly commented, insisting it must one day be immortalized through paint and brush.

RdR is perfect. She used to be an interior designer. She grew up in the Bahamas and Paris. She is now earring designer to the stars (see Lupita Nyong'o ravishing below).

Not only is Miss deRavenel a wonder of style and beauty, she was also a talented and successful interior designer. This photo of her lounging in her living room deeply underscores my point.

The symmetry ... a joy to behold!

RdR is bold: she exclusively wears floor sweeping dresses and skirts and is not afraid to swath herself in bold colours and pattern.

She is an expert at making her followers wish they were her by travelling to the world's most exotic locals, like back in December, when she visited Morocco for two glorious weeks.

She is a goddess.

And a queen.

She is a doting mother.

And friend to those in high design places (she hobnobs with the likes of Nate Birkus, Aerin Lauder and Mark D. Sikes).

RdR's Bahamian living room decor will hit you like a breath of fresh air.

She will give you curtain and pattern mixing envy any time of the year.

And will teach you that blue and white is the most timeless colour affair.
